Justin Berry (Part 2)/ Tyra Banks modeling scam episode/ Vern Troyer

This email/ blog post may get you angry, depressed, and in a bad mood.  It may be offensive.  The parts that aren't offensive is the "Tyra Banks modeling scam episode."

Mar. 30, 2017 Justin Berry: This is another email/ blog post about him:

http://badcb.blogspot.ca/2016/09/huckleberry-finn-as-sex-offender-justin.html

I was thinking once again about him and how he did sexual things on his webcam and made money off it.

I was thinking about my friend Angela saying: "By the time you're that age (13), don't you kind of know what's right and what's wrong by then?"

The gateway:

It's a case-by-case basis.  There are teens who try and smoke pot.  They do it once and they never do it again.  Doesn't mean you try one drug means that you will become addicted to it, and start trying harder drugs.  As for teens, just be aware that it does not become an addiction.

I was saying that with Berry.  There are probably a lot of teen boys and girls would do one small sexual thing on webcam and never do it again.

Berry was offered $50 to have his shirt off on webcam.  Then he was offered money to take off his pants.  Then he got paid to masturbate on camera.

On the fictional teen show Renegade Press: Patti shows her belly button and got a free camera.

However, on the show, later Patti was offered $100 if she was topless.  I don't think she went through with it.  There was a line.

Mar. 31, 2017: Not everybody who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic and/ or going to be one.

Different people with different boundaries: The above are examples of boundaries.  Here are some more:

Tyra Banks modeling scam episode: I remember an episode in like 2007 where she did a modeling scam episode.  She and her crew created a model open casting call.  They put the ad on the internet and a lot of women came.

There is a room where the photo shoot and there are hidden cameras.  Tyra is in another room.

Woman #1's face blurred out.  The male photographer tells her that she can put on a robe and he will photograph her.  There is woman makeup artist with a woman model who is not ready yet.

Woman #1 who is white takes off all her clothes and was being photographed.  Tyra enters.  They talk a bit.

Tyra: Why did you take off your clothes?  These could be at porn sites.
Woman #1: I am comfortable with my body.  Also there are other women here.  I feel safe.
Tyra: That's a lot of model scams that have women, children, or animals here to make you feel safe.

Another Woman #2 who is black.  She takes off her top and has a robe on.  Her face is blurred out and she was embarrassed that it is a scam.

Latino woman #3 was the only woman out of 20 women who didn't take off her clothes.

Tyra enters.
Woman #3: Hi.
Woman #3 gasps when she recognizes who it is: Tyra!

Tyra had her on the talks show.

Woman #3: I'm not going to do something I'm not proud of or something my family wouldn't be proud of.
The audience applauds.

My opinion: The women who take off their clothes, are they victims?  I would say 90% yes, because they are being scammed.  However, no one was forcing them to take off their clothes.

Product scams: Some are not really scams.  Have you bought a bag of chips and then you open it and it's half full?  It's not a scam because the bag was labelled with how many grams there are.  They made the bag big.

Apr. 4, 2017 Maury: When I talk to my friends and co-workers, they all say they watch it for fun and it's funny (unintentionally).  I get too angry at it so I can't watch it.

I am really extreme with this show that I can't watch it without getting angry.

I guess I'm writing about it and comparing because people are different.

Apr. 19, 2017 Motivations: Yesterday I was watching Quantico's episode "JMPALM."  It was about how to get people to do things:

Money
Ideology
Coercion
Ego

MICE and add Doubt.

Justin Berry did all those sexual things on his webcam for money.  There was no coercion.

Renegade Press: I wrote about this fictional teen show before where this teen girl had a webcam.  She did it for her ego because she got attention through the audience.

Apr. 20, 2017 "Woman sentenced for porn involving son": Today I found this in the Edmonton Journal.  It shows that women can be sexual predators.

RED DEER, Alta. — A central Alberta woman is to be sentenced next month on child pornography charges involving her four-year-old son.

The 44-year-old woman from Red Deer cannot be named to protect the identity of the boy.

She has pleaded guilty to sexual assault, making child pornography and distributing child pornography.

An investigation was launched about a year ago after police in Idaho found explicit photos of the boy that had been mailed to a man.

Investigators believe the man was arranging to visit Red Deer at some point.

The woman was arrested last June 1 at a licensed daycare where she worked, although authorities say they not believe the facility or any other children were involved.

She is to be sentenced in Red Deer provincial court on May 25.

May 10, 2017 "Boys admit to sharing images of underage girls": Today I found this article by Aly Thomson in the National Post in the Edmonton Journal:

Girls as young as 13 felt pressured to send intimate photos of themselves and were unaware they were being shared among a group of boys, a court has been told.

The 13-year-old felt “horrible” and “guilty” after sending four or five intimate photos, according to an agreed statement of facts submitted to a provincial court in Nova Scotia.

It said two Dropbox accounts were created for the purpose of sharing intimate images of girls aged between 13 and 17 in various states of undress, including bare breasts and fully nude.

Six Bridgewater, N.S., boys have admitted distributing intimate images of at least 20 girls.

Documents submitted in Bridgewater provincial court Tuesday said one 13-year-old girl was repeatedly asked by one accused for sexual photos over several days and felt pressured to send them.

“She felt he would not let her change the subject. She said no several times. The next day at school (the boy) and his friends were clustered near her locker and gave her the impression that they were talking about her. She felt pressured,” the agreed statement of facts said.

The girl sent four or five photos, but did not give permission to distribute those photos and was told they would not be saved, the statement said.

“She felt horrible when she sent them, but felt that if she did not he would spread some rumour about her at school or confront her about it. She felt guilty and awful after it.”
At the time the charges were laid in July 2016, four of the accused were 15 years old, and two were 18. All were under 18 when the offences were committed, and their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The victim’s identities are also protected.
All were students in Bridgewater.

Most photos were sent through an app called Snapchat — in which images disappear after 10 seconds — but the boys circumvented the time limit by using other phones to take a photograph of the photo.

In some cases, boys sent unsolicited intimate images of themselves to girls.
The boys will be sentenced July 31.

The case is one of the first in Canada involving legislation introduced in late 2013 after the death of Nova Scotia teen Rehtaeh Parsons, which captured national attention amid a heated public debate over cyberbullying.

My opinion: When I read this, it reminded me of an episode of Degrassi: The Next Generation.  Or at least it could be an episode.  I stopped watching that show by Sept. 2014 because I was busy with school and work.  I was going to catch up with it on YouTube, but I didn't.  I feel like I have outgrown it.  It is still a good show.

I did think about: how come the girls didn't go to the teacher to complain about sexual harassment?  There is coercion here.  Or at least pressure.

May 23, 2017 The intention and the result:

Justin Berry:

The intention: He said he got the webcam mainly to make new friends, and more specifically girls.

The result: He did sexual things on webcam for money.

My blog:

The intention: I was to get discovered on my blog.  I was to get my script The Vertex Fighter produced.

Also it was a good place to write down my life so I can remember them.  I can then be like: "Does anyone remember that I wrote about this before a yr ago?"  Most of you guys would be like "No."  Then I can send you the link to it.

The result: Now it's just me copying and pasting news articles (mainly job articles) on my blog so I can remember them.

I have shown my blog a few times at job interviews.

Kids and teens watching inappropriate things: I was thinking about Angela and her saying: "By the time you're that age (13), don't you kind of know what's right and wrong?"

Movies: When I was 14 yrs old, I went to my friend Leslie's house and watched The Matrix even though it was rated R.  It was violent and with profanity.  I watched it and I loved it.

A lot of kids at my jr. high school watched it.

When I was 15 yrs old, I went to my friend Tamara's house and watched Scary Movie with her and a bunch of other teens.  It was rated R and it was sexual.  I didn't like it.  I only liked a few of the clean jokes.

For example, Cindy goes to the computer to call for help.

Cindy types in: "White woman in trouble."
Cut to the police coming.

My opinion: I know it is inappropriate to be watching these movies because I am not of age.  However, I didn't feel bad or guilty about it.  I guess other people my age were doing this already.  Also it wasn't like I was doing anything illegal like drinking or drugs.

I wasn't hurting myself.  My actions only affected me and no one else.

Trashy talk shows: In jr. high school, the students loved Jerry Springer.  I remember my friend Mary Ann saying she watched it.  She told me about an ep where there are these 2 really overweight women and they do porn.

When I was 16, there was the teacher's strike.  I watched that talk show for a couple of weeks.  It got me angry and I didn't like how they didn't resolve anything.  At least with Maury, we get the paternity tests results and it is resolved.

When I was 20 yrs old in 2006, I was to stop watching Maury because I was so angry.  I watched it from 2003-2006.  I did watch a little homemade video of these 3 kids making a parody of the show on YouTube.

The kids look like they're 11-13 yrs old.  I would give them points for effort like the boy pretends to be Maury, and the 2 girls pretend to be guests.  They had stuffed animals as the audience who boos them.

Jun. 1, 2017 Teen prostitution: I was watching a Tyra Banks talk show episode where she talked to a 14 yr old girl who was a prostitute.  The girl had mentioned later to her customers that she is really 14, and they still paid her and had sex with her.

Tyra: Were you sexually abused before this?
Girl: Yes.
Tyra: Would you like to talk about it?
Girl: No.

When Justin Berry was on Oprah, he didn't say anything about being sexually abused before the webcam.  At least, I don't remember.

Oct. 19, 2017: I would say the girl is like 99% victim because she was sexually abused.  No one forced her to become a prostitute and go out and work as one.

If Berry was sexually abused before the webcam, then he's a victim.  I would say about 80% victim.

He wasn't sexually abused so he's 50% victim.

Mar. 23, 2018: I was talking to my co-worker J who is a 19 yr old guy.  I asked him if he watches Dr. Phil and Maury.  He used to watch it in high school before he went to school in the morning.  He got to watch some of it at 8am.  I only can access the shows in the afternoon:

His opinion:

"I like it when Dr. Phil calls out on people."

"I don't get angry at Maury because I don't get invested in them."

I told him about Justin Berry and how did sexual things on webcam.

J: Webcam is a line of work.  He's not a victim because he's making money.

My week:

Apr. 22, 2018 Vern Troyer's death:

Verne Troyer, who rose to fame after playing Mini-Me in the blockbuster “Austin Powers” films, died on Saturday, the actor’s representatives confirmed to HuffPost.

Troyer was 49 years old.

“Verne was an extremely caring individual,” an official statement shared with HuffPost read. “He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible.”

Troyer’s representatives did not disclose a cause of death but said that the actor “was a fighter when it came to his own battles.”

“Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much,” the statement read.

“Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what
kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help.”
  • Avatar
  • It's such an important sentiment. "Be kind to one another." It makes such a difference.

Apr. 23, 2018 "Switching gears from wheels to words": Today I found this article by Janet French in the Edmonton Journal
It was the last day of school before the Christmas holidays, and school bus driver Hugh Derrick pulled over at 124 Street and 117 Avenue to pick up a young girl.
“She got on the bus, and she was so upset. She had made me a present, and she forgot it at home,” Derrick recalled last week. “She wasn’t going to be on the bus that afternoon, because she was going home with her mom.”
He never saw her again.
That night, Nicole Calahaisen-Schmil, 9, and her mother, Rebecca Calahaisen, 42, were killed in a head-on collision near Fawcett, 150 km north of Edmonton, as the family made their way to Gift Lake for the holidays.
A 26-year-old man from Spruce Grove, driving while high on methamphetamine, was sentenced to 2-1/2 years in prison for dangerous driving in connection with the Dec. 16, 2005, crash.
Calahaisen-Schmil’s portrait hangs on the wall of Prince Charles School, where Derrick drove the student daily. Although retired, he now volunteers there every week, reading to the students.
In 2006, the relatives who cleaned out her mother’s apartment found the little girl’s forgotten Christmas gift, wrapped in newspaper, with sparkles glued all over it. It was really something, Derrick said.
Now 72, he had the package for two years before he could bring himself to open it. Inside was a stuffed teddy bear.
“You think you’re just driving kids,” Derrick said. “But they do things that will touch you.”
He spent more than 12 years as a bus driver, almost all of it ferrying children to Prince Charles School, he said. Nicole’s gift is one of many connections that keeps him tethered to the school, even in his second retirement.
My opinion: It's bittersweet to read it.

Apr. 25, 2018 Munch restaurant: I was there and it had a sign:

"If you are hungry and can't afford it.  Just ask.  There is always food for you."
