comedy comparisons/ funny videos/ Luke Mably

June 27 Comedy comparisons: Here are the following things that are funny.

Bad teachers: The movie Bad Teacher came out, and it's funny when people in inherently good occupations behave badly. So with Mrs. Krabappel on The Simpsons.

Bad parents: Parents are supposed to be good, but it's funny when they're bad. Cut to The Simpsons where Homer and Marge listen to Bart pray.

Bart: And please kill Sideshow Bob.
Homer and Marge runs in.
Marge: You can't ask God to kill someone for you.
Marge leaves.
Homer: Yeah, you do your own dirty work.

Well that's bad parenting to tell your kid to kill someone.

Taking a vacation at work: I saw this in S Club 7 in Miami back in 1999. The manager owns a hotel, and then takes a vacation by staying in the hotel's basement. It was done on Dilbert (the comic strip turned cartoon TV show) in 2000. Ashok takes a vacation in the mens' washroom.

This was all back before the recession hit in 2008, and the term "staycation" was created.

Montage song parody: A montage is several shots of actions occurring, with music playing to move the story forward. It's done in fight movies where the lead learns to fight so you show shots of him training.

It was first done on South Park with lyrics like: "Every shot shows a little improvement/ To show it all would take too long/ That's called a montage."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPFCHuEegsk

I then saw it on 30 Rock where Liz Lemon is cleaning her apartment and making positive changes in her life. There is a song like it too, but I can't find it on Youtube.

Someone from the opposite sex complimenting you, but you can't get together: In 2005, I was working at a clothing store. This little blonde 7 yr old boy comes up to me.

Boy: Do you work here?
Me: Yeah.
Boy: You're pretty.
Me: Thanks.

Aww, that's so cute. I remember in 2001, I was at my friend Leslie's house and we were watching this TV show where Brad Pitt was advertising his movie Spy Game.

Cut to BP talking to an old 80 yr old woman with a walker.

BP: Will you watch my movie?
Woman: You're in a movie? Yeah, well you're pretty cute.
BP: Thanks.

They showed this videotape in front of a live audience, and the audience says: "Whooooo."

T-shirt: I was at work a few months ago, and I saw this 13 yr old boy wear this shirt that said: "Mountain Dude." I complimented him on it. It was a quirky shirt.

June 28 Funny videos: I got this email through my blog:

Hi Tracy,

We recently published an article that you may be interested in entitled, “Top 10 SNL Classroom Skits of All Time."

After having followed your blog for a while, I feel that this one article would align well with your blog's subject matter. I thought perhaps you'd be interested in sharing this article with your readers? Thanks, and keep up the great blogging!

Sincerely,

Emma Taylor

Most of them can't be played because you have to be in the US. However, #3 with Jerry Seinfeld playing a history teacher teaching history to kids who don't know anything about it works. It's really old with Chris Farley, Chris Rock, and Adam Sandler as students.

I have seen #5 with Drew Barrymore with Gilly in art class on TV. I have seen Adam Sandberg play a teacher who teaches adults how to start a Myspace account. It becomes a little dark when it looks like the adults there want to start one because they are sexual predators and are pretending to be teenagers online.

I have seen the Tina Fey and Justin Bieber sketch where TF teachers JB and he sings in the sketch.

Shopping: I bought a bus pass and the woman gave me 50 cents change.

Me: I think you gave me the wrong amount of change.
She then gave me 35 cents change. I am so honest. I would feel guilty if I kept the little bit amount of money. I then bought myself new glasses because I needed to. The frames were $99, one of the cheapest. I don't care about brand names, and I wanted glasses that look similar to the one I had for the past 10 yrs.

Job search: Did you know that Hangers at Capilano mall closed down? I know for sure it's been there since 2000. I did an interview there last yr, but I didn't take the job offer because it seemed like I would hate it if I worked there. Looks like I dodged a bullet because the store closed down.

My job search has an effect on how I watch Pretty Little Liars. Toby gets dismissed from his job and will get paid for the rest of the week.

Me: Oh, that's good. If today's Mon., then you can get 4 days of pay. Free money.

Well the audience is supposed to feel sympathetic to Toby because he was dismissed due to his reputation, and not his work.

I was watching In Plain Sight, and Brandy got a job selling cars. I thought: "Selling cars is really hard to sell this big ticket item."

Rent: I asked Leslie how much rent she pays, and she thought I was pretty abrupt with that question. Well, we've known each other for years, so I thought I could ask that.

I then got a flashback of 2008, when I was talking to my co-worker whom I don't know very well.

Woman: I live in downtown with my boyfriend and the rent is expensive.
Me: How much do you pay?
W: $1000.
Me: So you pay half and that's $500.
W: That is half.

It costs $2000 to live in a downtown apartment every month?

Luke Mably: I read that Luke Mably is on the TV show Combat Hospital. It's about a hospital in the war zone Kandahar. I haven't seen it yet, but it's on Tues. on Global.

LM is this British actor, you may have seen him the romantic comedy The Prince and Me. It stars Julia Stiles who falls in love with a prince, and doesn't know it. LM is handsome. I haven't really seen him in anything else besides that. He was in 28 Days Later as one of the army guys, but it's kind of a blurry memory for me because all the military guys look alike.

Liz Murray/ Post Secret/ hackers

June 25 Liz Murray: This is about a girl who went from "Homeless to Harvard." I first knew about her in Cosmogirl's first issue in 1999. She then went on Oprah in 2004. When she was a kid, she lived with her parents who were drug addicts. Her mom died of AIDS, and then her dad left. She was in high school and became homeless. She was partying for a month and then thought: "What if I worked really hard? What would happen in a month? Three months from now?"

She slept on trains every night. She goes to The Door, which helps homeless youth. She got a scholarship to Harvard. She was on Oprah again in 2010. She has now written a memoir called Breaking Night. She reunited with her dad. He was in a homeless shelter, and Liz bought an apartment and they live together.

Liz will open a school in fall 2011 for homeless and foster kids. Here are her quotes:

"You are bigger than you're circumstances."

"Success creates opportunities for other people."

Warrick Dunn: He was also on Oprah. He's a black football player and he gives homes to single moms and now single dads. He has a charity called "Home for the Holidays." The house has furniture, computers, and food.

Film making: If you've been to my other blog www.thevertexfighter.blogspot.com, you can see I have been going to eHow.com and watching videos of producers talking about how to sell a screenplay and make an independent film.

I find that it's easier for me to learn those things by watching videos instead of reading the website. It's like I'm in class and listening to the producer. I'm taking notes on my computer and posting it on my blog.

I've been busy working at my job, and looking for an office job on the side. I'm learning about film making too. I have writer's block, but by watching these videos about film making, it kind of inspires me to write.

June 26 Post Secret: Here are some secrets:

"My university saved my life. Really."

(On the post card, it had this quote: “I will prepare, and someday my chance will come.” -Lincoln. I do like to read upbeat post cards.)

"Dear interviewer: I'll be whomever you want me to be. Just please hire me."

(Looks like there are people out there who are looking really hard for a job like me.)

"You think I'm obsessed with that TV show. What you don't know is that I need that hope it gives me. That hope that true love is out there."

(That post card kind of inspired me to write. I want to write TV shows that inspire people and make them laugh and think. I want to make people happy and be entertained by what they're watching.)

"I'm finally realizing that being alone doesn't have to mean being lonely."

"My love line said I would never find true love...and I ignored them."

Lance Armstrong: One time I was channel surfing and the movie Dodgeball was on. He was in it playing himself. He was giving a pep talk to Vince Vaughn's character. This is from imdb.com.

Peter La Fleur: Uh, actually I decided to quit... Lance.
Lance Armstrong: Quit? You know, once I was thinking about quitting when I was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer, all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family, I got back on the bike and I won the Tour de France five times in a row. But I'm sure you have a good reason to quit. So what are you dying from that's keeping you from the finals?
Peter La Fleur: Right now it feels a little bit like... shame.
Lance Armstrong: Well, I guess if a person never quit when the going got tough, they wouldn't have anything to regret for the rest of their life. But good luck to you Peter. I'm sure this decision won't haunt you forever.

Hackers: I've been brainstorming ideas for my script. How about hackers? There is already a movie called Hackers starring Johnny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie (1995). I read about it on Wikipedia and imdb.com and did you know that Jesse Bradford was in that movie too? He got big in Bring it On. He was also on Romeo and Juliet (1996) playing Romeo's friend.

There was a The Listener episode about hackers. Also on a lot of TV shows, there has to be some techie like Chloe on Smallville, Willow on Buffy, DD on She Spies, and Marshal on Alias.

I was researching on the internet and I can see why it's appealing. Hackers are smart to know how to use a computer. They are also like rebels with attitude. They can get power by hacking into governments and businesses. They can get money by getting SIN numbers and selling it. They can also have lots of fun playing tricks by hacking into websites and putting up a fake article like how Tupac Shakur is alive when he isn't.

If I am going to write something about hackers, than I have to be creative with what story hasn't been told about them.

Homicide: There are now 28 homicides this year in Edmonton. There are 3 homicides in Calgary. There have been a lot of homicides in downtown Edmonton where the victims are men and it was fueled by drugs and alcohol.

Look alike: Dagney Kerr is an actress who plays Buffy's roommate Kathy on Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 4. She has short, dark, curly hair. I thought she may be the same girl on Prison Break season 2 where she runs off with Tweener, but it isn't. It turns out DK was on Desperate Housewives season 2 as a nurse. You know where Carlos's mom Mrs. Solis falls down the stairs at the hospital before she could tell DK's nurse character that Gabby is cheating on Carlos.

Well, actually Mrs. Solis did tell DK, but she was wearing headphones and didn't hear her. I know a girl who looks like DK. My old co-worker Christine has the same hair style.

June 27 Job: Today at work was busy, so I managed to get a good amount of tips. I also stayed for an extra hr and worked some more.

License plates: Here's some more I found in the parking lot: EMY ALY, PATTY, DEBSSUV.

This is from The Office. Creed becomes the new manager and he drove a car with this license plate: NEW MGR.

This is from Castle, it's about a swimmer who was murdered. He had a license plate: "SWM4GLD."

This is from the Edmonton Journal: 4MILOVE, OOO MAA.

What an odd world we live in

I got this from my friend Sherry who forwarded it to me. Now I think all of you guys should read it:

This email started in Canada, but I think it says a lot for the whole world, and is worth thinking about

Dear Prime Minister

Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in a nursing home. This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks. They'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc and they'd receive money instead of paying it out. They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly if they fell, or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them. A guard would check on them every 20 minutes and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose. They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, pool and education.

Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ's and legal aid would be free, on request. Private, secure! rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens. Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls..

There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.

The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone and unsupervised. Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week. Live in a tiny room and pay $900.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out. I MUST AD TO THIS THO.. WHERE MY GRAM IS SHE PAY'S $1400.00 A MONTH PLUS EXTRA FEE'S FOR HAIR CUTS, FOOT CARE,DENTAL CARE, EYE CARE,TEA AND A SNACK EVEN ONCE A WEEK ON THEIR ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT! OH THE LIST GOES ON..... AND NOT ALL MEDICATIONS ARE COVERED! THERE IS A LOT MORE TO AD TRUST ME!! AND THIS AMOUNT IS ON SUBSIDIZED RENT!!!

Justice for all we say.

Also:

Think about this ... If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone -- YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

It is time for us grumpy old bastards to speak up!

And if you are not retired yet your day will come.

Rookie Blue/ anti-classroom/ jerks

June 23 Rookie Blue: In my last post about this show, I said it was average. I saw the season 2 premiere today called "Butterflies" and it has greatly improved. It starts off with the rookies being happy and the lead Andy being happy and confident. She and the other rookies are outside patrolling a concert. Det. Epstien bumps into a guy he knew and he asks about E's brother. E says "Great. Well actually I don't know why I said that, he died 4 yrs ago." Det. Peck overhears.

A's talking to a girl Kate and then a gun shot. Blood splatters on A's face. I jump. No matter how many times I see that blood splatter on someone's face, I always jump. K got shot. A then gets shot and falls down. I read in the Edmonton Journal that a cop gets shot, but I didn't expect the lead to be. I was surprised because the lead character dies on season finales like Dark Angel and Buffy season 1 finales, and bring back to life. In Plain Sight season 2 finale, the lead got shot. It goes into commercials.

Cut to A and she's lying on the ground, and the bullet was stuck in her bullet proof vest. It's realistic because later she does show her bruise. Cop Swarek is talking to A later, and he sees a young black guy on his cell phone. S handcuffs him Oscar. There is a gun on Oscar and he says he found it will sell it for $500. I was like: "He's not the guy, because it would be too easy since it's so soon into the episode. But I still don't know who and why they did it."

Christopher Ralph makes an appearance. I haven't seen this Canadian actor in yrs, he was on Animorphs playing Tobias and In a Heartbeat. Both shows had Shawn Ashmore before SA got big in X-Men. CR plays one of the people standing in line getting into the concert.

A talks to the roommate Miranda and she had given the red coat to Kate. M always wore that coat everyday. K got shot due to mistaken identity, because M was supposed to get shot.

The show raises the stakes because Kate is an organ donor and can only be alive until the end of the day before her organs are useless. Miranda's ex- boyfriend Adrain attacks M in dorm. Andy enters and Adrian runs up the building through the fire escape. It's kind of a cliche for bad guy to run up. Adrian is on ledge and talking.

Andy puts gun down and Adrian turns his back. Andy pulls out a baton and hits his legs. Adrian falls down and Andy grabs him and drags him down and handcuffs him to the rail. I like that. It was rough, fast, and clean arrest.

Kate's organs will be donated to a 43 yr old family man. Det. Peck asks Det. Diaz what happened to Det. Epstein's brother. It turns out he hung himself. Andy also learns about her boyfriend Callahan's ex-gf Jo who is now working there. A and C talk about Jo. Turns out C and Jo were partners and then lived together, and broke up.

Overall it was a good episode, I recommend you all check it out.

June 24 Anti- classroom: This was from a few weeks ago in the National Post. It was about a family that has one kid go to school and one kid who chooses not to. The kid who stays at home can choose to learn whatever he or she wants to learn. If the kid is really interested in writing, he will learn that and won't learn science.

In the article there is a guy who didn't go to school, but wanted to go to college. He then did all these gr. 12 tests and passed them and used those to get into college. I think all kids should go to school. That's where they learn everything in the four core subjects, English, math, science, and social studies.

I'm okay with home school because they are also learning those subjects. If I had the choice to not go to school when I was a kid, I probably wouldn't and then I wouldn't learn anything. I hate school, but it did make me develop good work ethics and study habits. I learn the lesson that hard work does pay off.

Jerks: I got this flashback of when I was in gr. 12 and I was on www.youthone.com. There was this forum where a person says on the "Debates" page. The thread title was: "People as a whole, suck."

Person: People as a whole, suck. All we do is fight, and kill each other and start wars with one another. We all suck.

Me: That's because we're so different from one another and can't get along.

Examples: Here are some real life examples. It may not be as a global scale like war, but it's about people's behaviors. There was a funny show called The Jamie Kennedy Experiment where JK plays pranks on people with questions like: "Will this guy hit on a blind man's wife?"

JK pretends to be blind, and a hot blonde woman pretends to be his wife. They play a trick on this Guy. The Wife was taking off her clothes and mouthing words about her Husband "He is so boring" to Guy. I have it on dvd and there was a sketch that didn't get on air. One Guy didn't take the bait because it was wrong to hit on another guy's wife. The one that did make it on air, was the Guy who actually started kissing Wife after the blind Husband left the room. He's a jerk.

Here's one that proves people as a whole, suck. JK makes this fake TV talent show. Two Guys are judges and are getting the trick played on them. The audience of 300 people are also having the trick played on them. JK is a contestant and he falls on his unicycle and the audience laughs and boos him.

Host: The contestants are now gone, and they can't hear any of your comments.
The two Guy Judges then totally dissed JK's performance and the audience laughs.

JK and other contestant comes back and the TV on stage behind them airs all the mean comments that the two Guy Judges said earlier. The audience then laughs at the Judges because they look embarrassed.

This above example totally proves that we people as a whole, suck. This prank, you can put any two guys in the judges place, and they would all say mean things about JK. The audience was laughing and booing JK. I guess JK punished the two Judges by airing the mean comments and embarrassing them. JK also punished the audience in a way, by talking to the host and saying his wife died. The entire audience went dead silent and they probably felt really guilty for booing and laughing at him earlier.

Music video: I saw Britney Spears new music video called "I Wanna Go." I don't really like the song. The video was weird and funny. I would probably say the best part was the beginning where she was interviewed by a team of reporters. The dialogue was funny with the reporters asking questions that are not related to her at all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-sxSd1uwoU

June 25 Dateline: I remember watching Malcolm in the Middle where Francis has to babysit a 12 yr old girl. They're at a restaurant and she wants to stay. She says loudly: "You were a lot nicer when we were on the internet!"

That was kind of funny. I was talking to the new girl who worked here for a few weeks and she was talking about how it was so disturbing to watch Dateline: To Catch a Predator. Especially the guys who have daughters of their own who are the same age as the decoy (actor.)

Me: I would say the most disturbing one was when the police went through a predator's car and there is rope and masking tape in there.

I watch Law and Order: SVU, and the lawyer can defend him saying that's speculation, not real evidence that he was going to use it on the kid. However, is there any judge and jury here who isn't disturbed by that?

Barack and Michelle Obama: it depends on your point of view (JOKE)

I got this from my friend Sherry. She forwarded it to me.

One night, President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn't too luxurious.

When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the President’s secret service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private. They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner.

Following this conversation President Obama asked Michelle, "Why was he so interested in talking to you?" She mentioned that in her teenage years, he had been madly in love with her.

President Obama then said, "so if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant"

To which Michelle responded, "no, if I had married him, he would now be the President".

Tosh.O/ Mayerthorpe/ fun

June 20 Tosh.O: I haven't seen this show in months because I'm too busy watching 16&P. I remember Daniel Tosh interviewing a white guy.

WG: You can do a movie called White Man Can't Jump, but you can't do a movie called Black Man Can't Swim.
The audience says: Ohhhhhh.
Me: But it's true, you can't do a movie called Black Man Can't Swim.

The white guy wasn't saying it as a joke, he was pointing it out. If a black guy stand up comedian said it, the audience would be laughing.

Writing: The writer in me has the imagination. I thought about it some more, like a comedy full of African- Americans in the cast. However, you really need to change the title of the movie. It is a racially offensive stereotype.

Jokes: I got this from Jay Leno.

JL: One of Osama Bin Laden's wife said about him: "He was the only one who can find my Jihad spot."
I laughed out loud at that one.

This is from The Office. There was a scene where the characters are saying that Rocky Mountain Oysters is what you call bull testicles. I was watching it with my sister.

Me: Who calls it that?
S: Everybody.
Me: Foodie.
S laughs.

It's on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Mountain_oysters

Job interview: Today I went to a group interview with 8 other women. The interviewer said there are a few more candidates they had to interview. I can pick who will get hired for 2 positions. It will be the woman who spoke the most. I answered a few questions.

June 21 Job search: Today is my day off and I went to my usual 4 sources to look for a job. I also went to all the bank websites I bookmarked, and applied to 22 positions in total.

Spa Sation: I was at Kijiji looking for a job, and I found this: "Don't work for Spa Sation" as this person rants about it:

"First, they take an hour off your pay cheque for lunch.. even though receptionists aren't allowed to leave the front desk. But then they dont allow us to eat at the front either..
As well as dont work for more than 8 hours because even if you stay late for the clients they count your clock back to 8 hours like you weren't even working extra"

http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-jobs-office-mgr-receptionist-Dont-work-for-Spa-sation-W0QQAdIdZ291835430

I did do an interview for them last yr and didn't get hired. Looks like I may have dodged a bullet.

Actors: I was watching the TV movie Degrassi takes Manhattan. MTV Canada VJ Jessi Cruikshank plays a VJ in it. Not too much of a stretch for her. The other MTV Canada VJ Dan Levy played a producer in Degrassi goes to Hollywood. I was watching Manhattan, and I see this guy in Jane's rock band. I've seen him before, but where?

Then I realized it's Forbes March from the old crappy show Mutant X, which is like X-Men, but not as good. I haven't seen this guy in 7 yrs, and I remember his face.

I was channel surfing last summer and I saw some General Hospital. I was like: "Mark from Edgemont." It was a Canadian teen show, and I thought it was pretty good. A little like Degrassi with the after- school special lesson to the episodes, but I thought it was well- written. The actor's name is Dominic Zamprogna and he's been on an ep of Flash Gordon and Tru Calling.

Mayerthorpe: In 2009, I was reading the Edmonton Journal's daily series about the undercover operation to get at Dennis Cheeseman who helped James Rozko get the guns to kill 4 RCMP officers. It was used as my research for The Vertex Fighter about crime.

On May 1, in the Edmonton Journal, there was a big article about Shawn Hennessy, the other person charged for it. It's interesting how SH was able to figure out that "Wally" is an undercover cop within 1 or 2 meetings. Wally introduces his girlfriend, and SH knew she was a cop too because she walked like a cop. Her hands were swinging around her body and it missed where her holstered gun would be. Oh, good catch.

Then he figures out another undercover cop "Sue" who was romancing Dennis Cheeseman. She had been stranded in front of Sepallo Foods in Barrhead where DC worked. If her car really did break down right there, she would have driven past a car garage to get to Sepallo. If her car was broken, how did she back it up into the parking lot?

In the Cheeseman series, it had Sue drive to Sepallo, and then she turned this ignition and the car really did break down there. The above paragraph, S could explain away: "The car was working fine the entire time and it broke down suddenly." The undercover operation is to recruit DC into this fake criminal gang (who are cops) where they basically do non- violent things like unload boxes from a truck.

DC really did believe they were a gang when they went to beat up Sue's ex- boyfriend (cop). DC didn't punch him, but a cop hit the other cop and took him to the washroom and you can hearing beating up noises. DC told SH, and SH said they were cops since DC didn't hit the ex-boyfriend.

The "gang" asks DC to recruit SH into the gang. DC was in the gang for a yr and he was inexperienced. SH couldn't believe DC would be a recruiter or be recruited at all in this gang: "Dennis isn't the guy, but suddenly he's their major player? Come on!"

SH thought DC really liked the feeling of being accepted by this gang. By reading the 2009 series, DC was complimented, got lots of money, got out a lot more, had friends since he joined the gang.

News: I read in the Edmonton Journal about these 2 girls who put rat poison in these cookies. They were supposed to be given to their enemies who are 2 girls. The Rat Poison girls gave a boy the cookies, so he will deliver them to the 2 Rivals so the Rivals will eat it. The boy ate the cookies for himself instead, and he died due to the rat poison. It's under investigation.

I was thinking: "This is like CSI: NY. There are a lot of cases where one person is the target, but someone else gets hurt instead. An episode of this guy who drank this poisoned lemonade, but he also shared it with this woman, so they both died.

June 23: Today I went to a job interview. There were a lot of applicants. I didn't get hired at the place I did an interview for last week.

Fun: After the interview I went to the festival there was in Churchill Square in downtown. I looked at the food, jewelery, art, clothes. There were photos, paintings, and sketches. I started rifling through this bin.

This young woman who's the artist comes up to me.
Artist: Are you looking for something in particular?
Me: Yeah, do you have James Dean?
Artist: No, but it's on my list of things that I will draw.

She has Marilyn Monroe and the Beatles. I am a big fan of James Dean and bought all 3 of his movies on dvd, a poster, and 3 calenders in 2004, and 2 calenders in 2005, and a mounted photo. I also have a book of photos with him, and a book called The James Dean Affair which is a fictional book. This was from 2004-2005 and I didn't buy any more James Dean stuff after that.

Rookie Blue/ crazy crime/ plagiarism

June 18 Rookie Blue: This show is coming back again this summer. Last season it's about a group of new cops in their first year on the job. The show isn't like a procedural where they have to solve the crime like Law and Order: SVU. It's more about relationships and how the cases affect the characters.

I was reading an article in the National Post about it. Flashpoint and Rookie Blue are shows shot in Toronto, and don't mention Canada to not alienate American viewers. This show is average to me. I don't really like that it's about the characters and not the case. I do watch it for my favorite Edmonton actor Eric Johnson, and I do like the characters and stories as a whole.

In the season 1 finale, the first hour was that they become cops at the end of the episode. The 2nd hour was their first day as real cops. The 2nd season is airing on Thursday June 23 on Global.

Actors: On the season finale, I immediately recognized bad boy producer Tommy from the Toronto shot show Instant Star. The actor's name is Tim Rozon. He was playing a bad guy again. Also in the episode, I saw this young red- haired woman. She looked so familiar, and then I remembered I saw her on a Flashpoint ep where she was kidnapped by a guy who thought she was his daughter.

I was watching Warehouse 13 (created by Buffy writer Jane Espenson). It's an American show shot in Toronto. I see that Asian woman who heals Lena in the episode. I have seen her on Toronto show shows The Best Years and Instant Star.

The lesson is, if someone looks familiar on a Canadian show, think of all the other Canadian shows and American shows shot in Canada, and you will most likely figure out where that person looks familiar and where you've seen them from. lol.

Writing: I have hit writer's block. Let's look at some well- written material. I was re-watching this Buffy ep for the 2nd time. It's where Buffy has to kill Anya because she killed 20 college kids by granting someone's wish.

The demon Halfrek says: "Never go for the kill, when you can go for the pain."

That reminds me of a movie with Chow Yun Fat in it. I had to look it up, but it's called The Replacement Killers (1998.) I remember seeing the trailer about a hired hitman who couldn't go through with killing a cop's son. Then the mob boss tries to kill the hitman.

The thing is, don't kill the cop, kill his son so he can suffer the pain. I think it's also used for other movies like The Princess Bride. The good guy killed the bad guy who killed his father. You kill the parent, so the child could avenge their death.

June 19: There are lots of revenge movies like Kill Bill.

Crazy crime: I was riding on the bus this morning and it stopped in downtown. There's this loud smash of glasses and the bus driver and the riders all look. We were in front of Henry Singer and a guy on a bike was smashing the window and he stole a mannequin wearing the Henry Singer clothes.

He took the mannequin and rode away on his bike. My bus driver calls it in. As she calls it in, the riders look on. A pedestrian who is a woman in a purple coat calls it in. A security guard comes and 3 other witnesses tell the guard what they saw. The guy was wearing a hoodie up to hide his face, and I didn't see his face. He was also wearing a black jacket and jeans.

This smash and grab reminds me of Degrassi where Jay smashed and grabbed his ring back from the pawn shop. It also reminds me of The Simpsons where they're at the Itchy and Scratchy Land. Bart smashes windows to get the cameras because the robotic mascots were attacking them.

Plagiarism: This made it on the National Post. The University of Alberta medical dean is accused of plagiarism for his grad speech. My dad and sister were discussing it, and the dean may have gotten a speech writer to write it for him. Or his secretary/ assistant. So the speech writer and/ or assistant plagiarized it. Even if his assistant did it, he's still responsible for reading it and passing it as his own.

It also reminded me of The Simpsons where Homer makes a prank phone call to the dean: "Hello dean, you're a big stupid head." Well it's stupid of the dean to commit plagiarism when there are these big consequences if a student does it.

Blog article: I got this through my blog awhile ago. I read the article and thought it was informative. I learned something useful from it.

Hi Tracy,

We would love to share with you an article that we just posted on our own blog! “10 Tips For Extending The Battery Life Of Your Cell Phone” (http://www.internetproviders.net/blog/2011/10-tips-for-extending-the-battery-life-of-your-cell-phone/) would be an interesting story for your readers to check out and discuss on your blog.

Thanks for sharing some great content through your blog. It has been a sincere pleasure to read.

Sincerely,
Erica Morgan

Strike: I was reading the "Venting" section in the Edmonton Journal. Someone said: "Have you noticed people go on strike during the summer?" Well back in 2002, the Edmonton Public School teachers strike in Feb.

June 20 Friends: I put up that "crazy crime" on my Facebook status and one of my old co-workers Judith wrote: "Was he one of the 'rioter's' from Vancouver that escaped out here to freeze in the rain?"

I think she was joking. She also commented on the link of "crazy news" where a woman beheads her attacker who attempted to rape her.

Judith wrote: "Hmm. He wouldn't have gotten that kind of comeuppance in jail. (If any of the prisoners in jail would have known of his crime it would not have been his 'head' that was severed off of his shoulders). Something would have been severed though......."

chimpanzee attack/ fake blog/ crazy news

June 17 Chimpanzee attack: This was a long time ago, but I wrote an email about Charla Nash who had her face ripped off by a 200 pound chimpanzee in Feb. 2009. She will have a documentary made about her and will be aired on NBC later this fall. She had a face transplant and wears a veil. She was on Oprah last yr and showed her face there.

She's blind, and doesn't have eyes, nose, lips or hands. Doctors had a double hand transplant that wasn't successful and the hands were removed. Nash's friend Sandra Herold who owned the chimpanzee has died.

Fake blog: I read this in the National Post about a middle- aged guy named Tom MacMaster who's 42, and pretends to be a Syrian lesbian on this blog. He pretends to be Amina Arraf and called the blog "A Gay Girl in Damascus." On BBC radio Good Morning Scotland, MacMaster says he wants the information about what was happening in Syria.

He had regular contact with friends in Syria. The article says people are afraid that he endangered many people in Syria, and people had joined a Facebook group about her being "arrested" though she doesn't exist.

My take on it: At first I was like: "Damn, this guy's famous because of his blog. Or more like infamous now that it's fake." I want to be recognized for my writing. Well that's a pretty interesting character of a lesbian living in a oppressive country like Syria. Nobody likes to get played. This isn't as bad as the writer Stephen Glass who wrote all these fictional stories for the New Republic and made a lot of money off it and furthered his career.

The Gangster Next Door: This was a documentary I saw on CBC last night. It was about gangs in Vancouver. There are no laws against shipping drugs in bulk in Canada. The drug production isn't taxable. There is a big production of pot in Vancouver, and they showed shots of that.

It talked about the three Bacon Brothers who are gang leaders. One of the brothers was shot 11 times. The cop Lyle Simpson told the Bacon's father about it, and he laughed and said: "That's better than (rapper) 50 Cent who got shot 9 times." Simpson thought that was very weird that the dad would be laughing and somewhat proud that his son was shot more than a famous rapper was. When Simpson told him, it wasn't really sure if the son was going to make it or not. He did survive the shooting.

It discussed about the "Suri Six" about 6 people killed in an apartment building. 2 people who didn't have anything to do with drugs saw the murder occur, and got killed to insure their silence. There was a gang war between the Bacon gang vs. the UN gang. Eileen Mahon who is an East Indian woman had lived in that apartment for one month with her husband and 3 kids, and her teen son was one of the innocent people who got killed.

There was the topic of gangster's girlfriend. It talked to a mother who had a daughter who was going out with a gangster, and then moved out of the home. She then went on the internet and found this other gangster's girlfriend named "Wise Gal" and her face was in the dark. Wise Gal talked about the money, power, and love of the gang life.

WG gave advice to the mom, about not pushing her daughter to get out of the gang life, but to tell her to be careful. If you push her, she will rebel. The daughter came back to her mom, and WG also got out of the gang life too. WG had this mother- daughter relationship with that woman who wanted her own daughter out of the gang.

It talked about the Red Scorpian gang. It interviewed former UN gang member James Coulter.

JC: I had a $50,000 car, nice clothes, home, and eating out at the Keg all the time. I didn't see that I was hurting people.

JC now talks to drug addicts and at- risk youth about what he's been through. The doc was kind of like Cops where they showed a arrest, and talked to police officers. This kind of reminded me of the 2006 mini- series Dragon Boys about Asian gangs in Vancouver. That was a good mini- series.

The Devil You Know: I was channel surfing and it turns out I have OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). I didn't know that until the other day. It was about a woman named Barbra Reifel and how she found out her oral surgeon husband was cutting organs out of dead bodies in funeral homes and selling it.

His name is Michael Mastero Marino. He made a lot of money selling skin, tissues, and bones without the dead person or their family's permission. He put pipes back into the dead bodies. There was x- ray footage of pipes where the leg bones are supposed to be. He was illegally selling body parts. The thing is, it's legal to get skin and tissues if you have a license.

He was a successful oral surgeon, but then he started taking drugs for his back. He always had a back ache from a sports injury in college. Then he started taking more and more. He got addicted and then went to rehab. He got out of rehab, but his medical license was suspended for 2 yrs. Then he got into taking organs out of dead bodies.

It didn't matter if the body parts had diseases, he harvested it anyway. I've seen this on Oprah's talk show. I don't know if it's the same woman, but I remember a woman talking about her husband taking organs out of dead bodies without permission.

Michael had cheated on Barbra before once with a woman earlier in their marriage. She then gave him a second chance. After he was arrested for harvesting organs, he was sent to Riker's prison and B needed to get $1.5 million bail. She went into his office and found these emails and it turns out he had affairs with 4 women.

Crazy news: I found this through a friend on Facebook. This woman was about to be attacked by a rapist in the Indian City of Lucknow. She was getting grass for her cattle and she was attacked from behind. She sliced the man's head with her sickle that she used to cut grass.

I thought that's crazy. It was good that she wasn't raped, and disturbing to cut his head off. I read the comments on the site and they're saying she's a bad ass.

http://theangryblack.tumblr.com/post/6626032343/woman-walks-through-market-holding-severed-head-of

June 18 Job: Yesterday a woman from another department left. The new woman who didn't show up for the past two weeks isn't on the schedule anymore.

Teen pregnancy: I'm going to say it. I think I am sick of 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom. I was waiting for 16&P to be over. Then it will be next week. But, instead of airing a 2nd season of Teen Mom 2, there's going to be a 3rd season of Teen Mom where they go back to the original 4 girls Maci, Farrah, Catelynn, and Amber.

I'm getting that feeling of really liking a TV show, and now disliking it, but I can't stop watching it like when I was trying to quit Dr. Phil. The 1st 2 seasons of his show were good, but then went bad in season 3.

16&P is getting repetitive with stupid people. This season there was the girl Jennifer who had twins. She was talking to her boyfriend Josh.

Josh: It's awkward to buy condoms.
Jennifer: Not as awkward as me being pregnant.

Me: Or having an STD and buying a pregnancy test. If you don't feel comfortable buying condoms, than that means you're not mature or ready enough to have sex. Or if you are going to have sex, go to the store, buy a whole bunch of stuff and this one thing will just be another item. I got that from the TV show Clueless.

Jennifer's 9 months pregnant, and has a 1 yr anniversary with Josh. So do the math, they had sex after 3 months of being together which some people would say is a short time. Unless they knew each other for way longer than 3 months, but were dating for 3 months. It gets worse in the episode where they were hitting each other and arguing on the side of the road, that the police came and arrested Josh.

Another dating violence PSA showed at the end of the episode. It's been showed on Teen Mom when Amber hits her boyfriend Gary and 16&P with Markai's episode.

They switch it up a bit with Kayla. She had an eating disorder when she was 13 and got help for it. Now she's pregnant and doesn't like gaining weight, but she's dealing with it well because she's eating. There was a eating disorder PSA.

cool/ jokes/ luck and talent

June 15 Cool: I'm going to add to that earlier email with "Rude" as the subject matter. After a few more hours where I can cool off, I am from medium anger to mild anger. That woman who made that rude comment at me was drunk. I know she was drinking when she was on the bus. I don't know if that was even her first drink of the day.

Also her two friends didn't even laugh. Even if my friend made that joke to someone else, I wouldn't really find that funny. You may say that's bias because the joke was at me. I am proud of myself that I kept my cool. I say: "I'm cool" and I leave it at that. What am I supposed to do? Yell and swear at her, and start a big fight on the bus where we would both be kicked off? I would end up raising my blood pressure.

I'm going to give her a pass because she's drunk. That brings a flashback of 2005. I went to NAIT and at the year end party, this girl Alicia was drunk. I would say she's an acquaintance and asked me: "Are you a virgin?" I wasn't offended and I gave her a pass because she was not herself. She was okay for the whole year. I don't really have anything bad to say about Alicia.

Job: It's a different case at the Soup place with that woman Shannon. She yelled and swore at me, and then I told the manager the next day. I didn't yell and swear back. The manager gave her a warning, and I got sympathy from the manager. I'm not going to give her a pass because she wasn't drunk.

Being drunk doesn't excuse you for bad behavior, but it's about picking and choosing your battles. I didn't want to have a big fight with my co-worker. I told the manager, but basically the problem took care of itself because she disrespected all the other workers.

Jokes: This is the 3rd email this week, so I have to write my jokes. There is this TV show Audrina, which is about Audrina Partridge after she left the reality show The Hills. This centres around her and her family. A and her friend/ stylist Joey go out with friends.

Cut to the next day. A's brother Marky enters.

A: Where were you last night?
M: I was at a strip club.
My little brother was watching it, and laughed out loud at it.
A and J didn't really react to it.

Well they're brother and sister. If it was boyfriend and girlfriend, it may be different. It kind of reminds me of The Simpsons ep called "Lisa's Wedding." In the yr 2010, Lisa is going to get married to Hugh.

Bart: I met this exotic dancer last night at Hugh's bachelor party.
Lisa: Hugh didn't have a bachelor's party.
B: We threw one in his honor.
L looks at B.
B: I threw one in his honor.
L looks at B.
B: I went to a strip club.

Laughing about death: Here's some more death jokes. I was watching That 70s Show and Eric was driving his grandma. In the middle of his sentence, his grandma falls over and her head hits his shoulder signaling that she's dead. The audience would laugh and say: "Oh my god."

On The Simpsons, Homer was taking a high school science class and his old principal was teaching it.

Principal: I got back into teaching to get my mind off my wife's passing away.
Homer: Will this be on test?
P: No.
H had written "dead wife" down on paper and erases it.

This is more of a joke at H's stupidity than death.

Annoying phrase: My friend Leslie said she got this from the internet:

Leslie: Every time you say "just saying," you should really be saying I'm sorry."

I never say "Just saying." It's like it excuses the mean thing you just said. I also don't like the right before you say something mean: "No offense, but." What you should say is: "I'm going to be brutally honest to you" or "Do you want my opinion?" Say something to mentally prepare the other person to brace themselves.

Job search tips: I was reading in the Globe and Mail and there was an article about college students looking for a job. One tip was: "Clean your Facebook page or make it unsearchable on the internet." It talked about how there was this one girl who was looking for a job and after 2 days working at an office, she found out she was going to have 5 days of unpaid training.

You have to get paid when you're being trained. That's the law. Also that office was a scam, because after 5 days, they'll fire you and they would have gotten free labor out of you. Then they'll go and get someone else.

It talked about how it's not always effective to look for a job on the internet because everybody else is doing that. You can start doing the old school way of passing out resumes in person. I do that with jobs at the mall. But when I go to pass out resumes at banks, they always tell me to go to their website.

Luck and talent: I was thinking about this, and then I read about it in the Globe and Mail. It's about success at a young age like the movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. What if you hit success when you're in your 20s? What do you have to work for or look forward to in your middle ages? Like you're already manager.

It discusses it's about both luck and talent. It's talent that you got this job because you have to be smart and hardworking to get the job and keep it. It's also a bit of luck because someone told you about it, and it wasn't on the internet. No one else knows about it, but since you know this person, they told you.

Friends: I was thinking about my friend Jessica and how I'm not jealous of her that she got a career in her field pretty soon after she graduated. She worked hard in the past 4 yrs to get her degree. Even if a family member gave her that job, she's the one who has to work at it to keep it.

Ivanka Trump: I even thought about that 20/20 piece about Ivanka Trump. After she graduated out of business school, she became the VP of the Trump business. It talked about how the job was handed to her, and would she have made it to VP if her dad didn't give her the job? IT said she doesn't know.

She did say she did go to business school, and work way more than 8hr work days.

Shopping: I went to City Centre this week to deposit money. I noticed that Timothy's World Coffee closed down. I applied there last yr when I got laid off from the Soup place. That store on the 3rd floor that sold formal wear closed down too.

EI: I asked my dad if I got a second job, and then got laid off from that job, would I still get EI? He said I may not get EI because I still have one other job to lean on. I was thinking of applying again at Call Centre #4. I worked there last year for one day and they dismissed because I only got 9 completed surveys, and I had skipped saying a paragraph because the person I was talking to was rushing me.

This time I will give it another good shot, and I will get way more than 9 completes and will read everything. I had gotten dismissed from Call Centre #3 before because they decided to hire someone who doesn't need as much training as I did back in 2007. But I managed to get my job back there in 2009 and got laid off 6 months later due to shortage of work.

June 17 Job interview: Today I went to a job interview. I got there 30min early because if I took the later bus, I may not be able to make it on time. I waited for 5min in the waiting room, and did the 20 min interview. I think it went well because afterward she seemed impressed about my writing diploma.

She says I could write ads and stuff. It sounds like a challenging position.

fun/ The Suspect/ rape

June 14 Fun: Yesterday I did the usual of going to work, and looking for a office job. I was working on my pitch package and then I took a break. The phone rang and my grandma picked it up. It was for me. I immediately thought: "It must be a job interview because none of my friends ever call me." lol. On rare occasions they do.

My friend Leslie called me and invited me to West Ed mall. I said yes, and then we went shopping there. We had a lot of fun. I only bought a $8.95 donair because I haven't had one in a yr, and I haven't eat out since last month. I only went out to dinner with my family last month. I never really go out, especially at night.

We went to Starbucks, the Apple store, Coach, B Sweet, the British Import store, Costa Blanca, and Hallmark.

I haven't seen Leslie in a yr, and I caught up on all her major life events in the past months. My weekly email/ blog posts were a good starting point to chat with.

Blog articles: I got this through my blog. Someone emailed this article. I thought it may relate to me about home offices, but it doesn't. It may for other people. On the right side are more Top Ten articles.

Hi Tracy,

We would love to share with you an article that we just posted on our own blog! (10 Simple Phone Systems for Small or Home Offices) is linked below and could be a fun way to share this announcement with your readers.

Here's another one. The article is about phone services I have never heard of before. It would be useful for a small business if you have one.

Hi Tracy,

We just posted an article, "10 Online Sites for Managing your Business Phones" http://www.shopphoneservice.com/blog/2011/10-online-sites-for-managing-your-business-phones/. I thought I'd drop a quick line and let you know in case you thought it was something you're audience would be interested in reading.

Either way, I hope you continue putting out great content through your blog. It has been a sincere pleasure to read.

Sincerely,
Tara Willson

The Suspect: I saw this 2005 TV movie last yr. Now I'm writing about it. This was shot in Vancouver. It said it was inspired by a true story. Edmonton actor Belinda Metz plays the detective. I have seen her on kid shows like So Weird and Mentors back when I was 14. I give this an average TV movie rating.

It starts off a little boring with an auction scene. There is the father Paul, mother Beth, and and B's tween step daughter Robyn. After the auction, R goes to a sleepover. Cut to home and P goes to work to pick up some files. B stays at home.

Cut to a Gunman in a cowboy hat and black jacket who shoots P in the car and sets it on fire. It blows up. Now the story gets exciting. There is a life insurance on Paul that's $750,000. B can't get into money because there's a fraud investigation, it's standard procedure. I thought P may have faked his own death. The theory was proven wrong because there was a bullet found in P's head and can identify that bullet.

I took notes during this TV movie, however my memory is a little fuzzy. Maybe his body was so burned up, they can't identify his DNA so they go with the bullet. They found gun in the sewer. There's a note that B found called Doug Zwick with his phone number. She investigates. 30 min into the film, B gets arrested because she must have killed her husband to get the money.

Like many TV movies and action movies, the lead is suspected of a crime they didn't commit. It's done in TV movies like Obituary starring Josie Bissette (Secret Life of the American Teenager) and Craig Olejnik (The Listener) where the lead is suspected towards the end of the TV movie. A part of it In Her Mother's Footsteps. Or the lead is a suspect of a crime they committed in self defense like Wide Awake and A Woman Hunted.

15 min after B gets arrested, a stroke of luck occurs. They were transporting inmates, and the light fixture breaks down. It was believable and not very contrived. B takes the opportunity to run and takes a shirt, cap, and runs out the window. 45 min into the film, the bail Bondsman helps B. Bondsman was investigating the whole time before the arrest.

Bondsman knows B is innocent. There are some flashbacks of P and his financial trouble. 1 hr in, car salesman is Doug. He's wearing a cowboy hat and same jacket like Gunman. P asks him for $50,000. The last half of the film, the audience and characters know that Doug did it. It's a matter of finding him to get evidence.

B dyes her blonde to red to disguise herself. P borrowed money from bad people, and B knew it. B and Bondsman investigate. An unpredictable part was it looks like B is going to get arrested when cops are in the home. Then it's another red haired woman who lives in the house.

B watches from a distance. She abandons the car and cell phone. B continues to contact daughter Robyn by going to her school and cell phone. R doesn't believe she's innocent. B is living in a trailer.

My theory came true: when B confronts Doug, it turns out P is alive and he faked his own death. P killed Doug. B feels betrayed. P strangles B and B runs. P and B fight in the lake and P tries to drown B. B is wearing a wire and Bondsman was listening in. He comes to the rescue and shoots P. P survives.

Detective apologizes to B. P killed D because D was going to kill him. Understandable. But P stole money from his wife B and used her signature to forge checks. B was going to go to jail for a crime she didn't commit, but P ran off. It was a fun and smart TV movie. Good mystery.

Rape: I found this on Yahoo news about a Texas man was raping a 77 yr old woman, and then he died during it. He complained of chest pains and then stopped. Then he rolled over and died. At first the woman thought he was drunk because she smelled alcohol, but then she fled her home and called her daughter. Well it looks like that rapist got his comeuppance. He was also a registered sex offender.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/texas-man-dies-while-raping-elderly-woman-184634051.html

I was reading the Edmonton Journal about the Slut Walk and how society needs to stop blaming the victims on how they're dressed, and stop the rapists.

There was this letter that said 90% of convicted rapists don't choose their victims because of what they were wearing. 95% don't even remember what they were wearing. I'm going to theorize that the rapists choose their targets when they're vulnerable like they're drunk.

June 15 Rude: I was on the bus reading the newspaper. This white, overweight woman with her girl friend and guy friend, and a 4yr old boy sat by me. The overweight woman makes a rude comment to me to be funny. I said: "I'm cool." I didn't cry because it wasn't that mean. It was rude. I didn't feel like crying and I didn't really get mad. A little offended. She didn't say anything to me after that.

For the twenty min. ride she was talking to her friends. I'm not going to diss her to her face, because if I did, I would be on her level. I wank things in my mind. She's overweight, she was drinking alcohol at 12pm because she poured a can of beer into a paper cup. She's in her twenties and seems stupid and immature for her age. She acted like she was in high school or younger. She talked about how she got kicked out of a night club.

She mentioned she will go to McDonald's and buy 5 cheeseburgers. So she's fat as a cow. I'm not exaggerating, this is the truth. She had a large waist. She will most likely get diabetes, get into an alcohol related accident, or get alcohol poisoning. You may say I'm mean, but from what I have seen from her, I have really low expectations of her.

It's what I do, when someone is rude and mean to me, or a bad person in general; I lower my expectations of them and think bad things about them. Kind of like that woman Shannon who used to work at the Soup place. She was rude to everybody. I had low expectations since I first met her. She was 35 and her kid is 17, she got pregnant as a teenager and that's not a very smart or good thing to do.

I knew she was going to quit because she seemed like a depressed person. She was often angry and anger is a form of depression.

Michael Phelps: I'm going to think of him on Jay Leno.

MP: I used to get picked on a lot when I was in school. Actually it's kind of funny. When I go out to dinner with my mom, the people I used to go to school with are now servers there.
The entire audience laughs.
MP: No, that's not the funny part. The funny part is that they say to me: "Oh hey, we used to go to school together." And I'm like: "Yeah, and you used to pick on me. Now we're like friends? That's weird."

writing/ blogs/ Flashback

June 11 Writing: I joined a writing group on LinkedIn called TWO BITS. It's "writing advice to writers from writers." It's good like "How do you end a story?" The advice was like initially your character is like this and at this place in the story.

By the end of the story, they have to change and be at a different place. Others have said they hate cliff hangers. Answer most questions, but leave a little bit of an open ending to leave the reader satisfied, but wanting a little bit more. I get emails saying there have been replies to the forums. It kind of helps my writer's block.

Blogs: I have my blog www.badcb.blogspot.com since Jan. 2008. So it's been 3 and half years and I'm still not famous. I read that the screenwriter Diablo Cody had a blog and someone told her to write a screenplay. She then wrote Juno and became a success. I have read and clipped out the newspaper article "From blog to book in 2 months."

My sister has a few blogs, but each blog is solely on one topic. My blog/ weekly emails is about a variety of topics like TV, movies, writing, music, rants, jokes, my job, my life, family, friends, and flashbacks. Maybe if I wrote solely on one topic, I would attract more people. I have like 137 comments on my badcb blog. I say 50 of them are spam.

I did start www.thevertexfighter.blogspot.com which is solely about The Vertex Fighter TV movie. I plan to write a blog post every day on that site. It's only 4 days old with 4 blog posts and no comments.

I guess I should have started on The Vertex Fighter blog like in 2008 when I was pitching the script, but the script wasn't really finished. I had badcb which proves that I am a prolific writer. It also tells anyone who visits my blog that I love to write.

This new Vertex Fighter blog does make me focus more on my goal of getting this script produced if I make myself write about the progress I make everyday. If not progress, write something about the script everyday so it would stay on my mind.

June 12 Customer service: I was reading the newspaper about how like 70% of people leave a store due to bad customer service. The biggest pet peeve is being put on hold on the phone for too long. It mentioned that Wal- Mart is the worst with customer service, but it's still the world's largest retailer.

I remember talking to this guy Mitch about how my friend Heather said: "I'm sure everything from Wal- Mart is made from some kid in China."

Mitch: Then again, China produces a lot of things.
So you can't totally blame Wal- Mart.

Unpaid work: I was thinking about The Simpsons where Homer was driving Bart.

Homer: That's the thing with being a dad; long hours and no pay.

Rain script: I'm going through my Rain draft 3 that I saved into my email. I'm also looking at my old school agenda that has all my handwritten Rain draft 3, before I typed it up. I'm going to recycle the pages, because I don't need the hard copy when I have the digital copy in my email. This was from Feb. 2010.

It was about a bad guy from Rain's past who's looking for her and finds her. I then looked and saw that my Rain rewrite was in June 2010. That's where I changed the story about how Rain gets revenge. When I read draft 3, it's very mediocre. It's 60 pages of not much happening.

I learn to write by writing. I only used a few scenes and dialogue from the old draft for the new rewrite. I haven't worked on Rain in a month. I was busy with my job, job search, and pitch package. Writing Rain is like my last priority.

Heist movies: In Ocean 11, Ocean 12, and Ocean 13, the movies are about a group of people with certain talents used to accomplish a heist. There was a TV show called Heist in 2006. There were only 7 episodes and it got cancelled. I read a Fast Five movie review that it also about a heist.

June 13 Flashback: I picked up the Metro today and there's a new book called Flashback by Dan Simmons. It will be released on Jul. 1. The blurb says: "This thriller is set in the near future where a bankrupt America is addicted to a drug that allows its population to relive the best moments and memories of the past. Simmons deftly explores how you can lose your future to your past and the inertia that can result from an addiction."

I like the part "lose your future to your past." It's about reminding yourself to live in the present and look forward to the future.

My flashbacks: I got this flashback of going to my friend Christina's birthday party. She was turning 11 and her mom was like 27? Or 28. I was 10 yrs old and I was thinking: "Wow, her mom is young. Most moms are in their 30s." Now that I'm 25, I can look back and see things differently. That means Christina's mom had her when she was 16 or 17. She got pregnant as a teenager.

Christina also had a little sister who was 9. That's the statistic with a teen mom. Once a teen girl gets pregnant when she's teen, there is a 25% chance she will get pregnant within the next two years, and she did.

Step by Step: Then I got another flashback of the old sitcom called Step by Step about a family of step siblings. The parents went to this kindergarten class with their daughter. They meet this other young couple who has a son in the same class.

The parents noticed that the couple is young.

Mom: Where are you from? The local college a few blocks from here?
Man: Well I'm 24.
Woman: And I'm 24 and a half.

I was a kid when I was watching the sitcom. I didn't do the math back then. But now that I'm 25, I'm doing the math that the young couple would have probably had the kid at 19 yrs old and that's young.

Employment article: I got this email through my blog. It's more about employment trends for teachers.

Hi Tracy,

I’m a frequent reader of your blog and wanted to let you know that I just posted an article on my site that I thought you might find interesting, “10 Telling Employment Trends in Academia”. If you think your readers might like it, too, would you consider sharing or mentioning it on your blog? I’d appreciate it if you have time to check it out.

headlines/ The Listener/ good deed

June 9 Headlines: Here's my batch of headlines. I got this from the Edmonton Journal Sunday Reader back when they had little pieces of news.

Transportation: "Cops: Man Tries to Run Down Woman after Wedding Proposal" -USA Today headline

According to Chicago Sun- Times, a man really wants to be a bus driver that he went as far as stealing a uniform and got a bus. He drove around the city for several hours while picking up riders. Chicago Transit Authority found out when the mystery driver returned to the bus to the CTA garage, and hit another bus as he was parking it. The suspect is known to a bus driver whose uniform was stolen the month before.

In the New Orleans Times- Picayune, a 29 yr old woman Jennifer Gille got into a cab in Louisiana. She took off her clothes and told the driver to driver her home to Michigan. He refused and drove to a police station. She stole his cab. Then a few blocks later they found the her and the cab and arrested her.

Arrests: The Edmonton Journal said: "Fired and fired." According to the Salem Statesman Journal, in Silverton, Oregon, a man learned he was about to be fired. He then torched his boss's car. He was arrested.

In the Edmonton Journal, a headline said: "Star witness admits he is a thief, a liar, unreliable." Anthony Bennett said he is an unreliable witness. He's a drug dealer and an addict. Basically the article said the prosecutor asked: "Are you a thief?" "Would you agree with me that you are still an unreliable witness now?"

AB said: "Yes, I am." Kind of reminds me of the girl on Jenny Jones when JJ asked her: "So you got pregnant when you were 13?"

Also in the Edmonton Journal: "Beastly sounds land man in jail." A 49 yr old man was doing animal impressions like a sheep in the middle of the night. Neighbors complained and the German police arrested him.

Bike: I found this in the National Post: "Biker caught with pants down, charged for not having a helmet. The 40 yr old man was wearing a shirt and riding his bike in Hamilton. The man fled police when they tried to stop him. They caught him later and arrested for dangerous driving, flight from the police and 2 counts of breach of probation, and not wearing a helmet. Hamilton Police sergeant Barry Mungar said it was a "strange occurrence."

According to the New York Post, a 68 yr old Florida man Richard Bialon was swearing at his bike in a Palm Beach gas station. Onlookers called the cops and they arrested him.

In the National Post, there is a blog called the Great Typo Hunt blog. Jeff Deck and Benjamin D. Herson went to the Grand Canyon. There was a sign with typos. It turns out the sign was created 70 yrs ago. The Park Service went to federal court and the Typo blog people had to pay $3,035 for wrecking the sign. They were banned from all National Parks for a yr.

June 10 Saturday Night Live: A few weeks ago there was a sketch about how Dominque Strauss- Kahn is in jail with two black guys.

Keenan Thompson: It was really nice talking to you. Now we're going to rape you.
KT, Jay Pharoah, and Domique Straus- Kahn (I forgot who played him) said in unison: Live from New York it's Saturday Night Live!

This is from a few months ago, but Miley Cyrus was on SNL and did a really good sketch making fun of Disney acting, by giving an acting class. The lesson to be a kid on a Disney show is being the loudest person in the room, disrespecting authority, and wear really bright clothes.

That is so true. I was reading twop.com about "TV moments that angry up the blood" and how people hate how kids disrespect authority.

Modern Family: There was an episode called "Mother's Day." A ball was tossed to a the gay couple Cameron and Mitchell are at the park, and a kid asks for them to throw it back.

Cameron: Oh what? You don't think I can throw a ball?
Me and my sister (unison): He can't throw it.
He throws it well and it hits a rider off the bike.

I didn't expect that one. lol.

The Listener: This show wasn't on at all last week. So I'll write about the episode called "Vanished." A baby gets kidnapped and an Amber Alert is issued. They also mention Ontario. It was really good because it was original and unpredictable. There is this woman who draws pictures of things that happen. Then it turns out, the woman hears dead people. Dead people tell her what to draw.

The baby is this big business man's daughter. The business man was played by Yannick Bisson. You may have seen him as the lead on Murdoch Mysteries and the CIBC commercials. His wife died, and the dead wife was talking to the psychic artist woman. The baby is being held for ransom.

The business man has fathered a daughter named Regan 20 yrs ago. He didn't raise her and R's single mom did. Later the mom killed herself. Regan kidnaps the baby (her half- sister) and holds it for ransom. Toby, the IIB were able to track her down due to the pictures and T seeing the images.

Businessman apologizes to Regan, and Toby was there. R then gives the baby back, and she is arrested.

Actors: I can't believe it. I was watching Degrassi for some months, and there's this Asian guy who is the manager at Holly J's restaurant job. Then I thought: "Isn't he the same guy on the low- budget show called Train 48 that was on in 2003?" I then looked it up and it turns out it is Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, and it is the same guy. I haven't seen this guy in 8 yrs, and I remember him from a random TV show.

The thing is, if you're a good- looking actor, I would remember you easier. I was watching a Castle ep called "Law and Murder." There is this black woman Miss Jenkins. I do remember her because she had a scene on The Mentalist. It was a memorable scene even though she was a minor character because she was panicking and the lead Jane helps calm her down with hypnotism.

I saw a Criminal Minds episode where this overweight woman was a serial killer. I was channel- surfing and saw her on The Mentalist repeat for one scene. I didn't remember her the first time I saw her on The Mentalist because it was a short scene, and not memorable. It's kind of a hit and miss with my memory. It's usually pretty good.

Coincidence: My sister and I were watching her Buffy dvds, the season 2 ep called "Ted." Buffy and her mom are going to watch Thelma and Louise at the end of the ep. My brother wants to go watch TV and then the movie Thelma and Louise is on.

Look alike: Doesn't Buffy's mom Joyce (Kristine Sutherland) kind of look like Susan Sarandon from Thelma and Louise? They look relatively alike, they could play sisters.

Here's Kristine Sutherland:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0840133/

Here's Susan Sarandon:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000215/

Good deed: This was from a few months ago. My grandma told me that when she was waiting for the bus, this 30 yr old guy came up to her and offered her his bus transfer. She showed him her bus pass so it wasn't necessary. It's the thought that counts.

Anthony Weiner/ flashback/ blog

June 6 Anthony Weiner: I read in the news about Congressman Anthony Weiner who said a hacker hacked onto his Twitter account and posted a photo of his genitals on the account. It was quickly taken down, and AW went on CNN to talk about how a hacker did it.

Now I was watching CNN with my brother, and AW admitted he sent the lewd photos to this college student. He had sent lewd photos and had inappropriate chats to 6 women on the internet in the past 3 years. He had gotten married this year.

I'm going to give him points for being honest... eventually after 5 days with the story about a hacker. Well it's not as bad as Arnold Schwarzenegger fathering a child with a housekeeping staff member. Or Eliot Spitzer cheating on his wife with a prostitute. Sending lewd photos is not as bad in comparison.

Job: My dad asked me if anybody had left my job. One person did to move to another city, a new employee did because she got full-time hours somewhere else. Another new employee may be leaving because she's not showing up for work. One old employee managed to get a second job. A lot of us have a second job.

Flashback: I got this flash back in gr. 11 Social class. This girl, I think her name is Sarah. I'm not sure. She and I are friendly acquaintances. She whispered to her friend Garret, and I overheard. I was sitting 2 desks behind her.

S: I may be pregnant.

I didn't really react to it. I don't really know her. I wasn't even thinking: "I have to tell my friend about this." I didn't tell anyone about it until now, 10 years later. See, I can keep a secret. I didn't tell because it's none of my business or anyone else's. Also she wasn't like popular, so maybe people won't be interested.

I think also the key words were "may be." She didn't say she was. By all means she may not be pregnant. Then later, it turns out she wasn't pregnant so everything's cool.

Feng Shui: I was cleaning my desk which has piles of papers and books. Do you believe in Feng Shui? It's an ancient Chinese practice of how you arrange things in your house affects your life.

Birdhouse: I threw out this painted birdhouse my ex- boyfriend gave to me 3 yrs ago. He had bought this expensive paint for school, but never used it. He then used it on the birdhouse. It's been on my desk for 3 yrs and now I'm throwing it out because there is no use for it.

Writing: I also threw out 24 pages of my Garret script that I printed out on scrap paper back in 2009. It was like The Fighter, but with different names. It did teach me to stop printing out scripts until it's completely done or I'll be wasting paper. (Even if it's scrap paper.) I could save all those drafts onto my email account by sending it to myself. In Legal Issues for Writers class, I was told to copyright my work by keeping drafts of it.

Job search: I also threw out 7 scrap pieces of paper that listed all the places I applied to in the past 2 yrs.

2009 office job search (Jan. 2009-Aug. 2009): I passed out 110 resumes in 8 months and got the Call Centre #3 job. I mainly passed to hair salons, banks, insurance companies in downtown, and in person. I applied to some places in my neighborhood. I only got 2 interviews. It was a little effective because I did get hired to one place.

2009 office job search (Nov. 2009- Dec. 2009): I did the same as above. Pass out resumes to mainly banks in downtown and in person. It was not very effective.

2010 regular job search (Jan. 2010-Mar. 2010): I passed resumes to downtown restaurants and stores. I set up some online job profiles. A little effective because I got some interviews.

2010 regular and office job search (Apr.2010- present): I did most of my job search online. I send out 100 resumes a month. I started using a notepad to write down all the places I applied to instead of some old agenda paper because I applied to so many places.

June 7 Job interview: Today was crazy. I had a job interview at 11am. I left at 10am and I was supposed to take the #8 bus, but I took the #2 bus because I still got to the area anyway. I then asked a young guy in a business on how to get to the office and he gave me the right direction. But then I asked the #8 bus driver and he pointed in another direction.

I then calmed down and regrouped by using the washroom, and asking another man and he said what the young guy said. I then found the place. I was 15 min. late for the interview, but I was still interviewed. There are 12 applicants for 1 position. I think the interview went okay, but I don't know if I will get hired. I did call the business on my cell phone to say I was lost, but when I called it said the number wasn't assigned.

I told the boss, and he thought it was weird that it wasn't listed. It was the right number when I asked him at the interview. It worked when I called him earlier on my home number.

I spent 2hrs of my morning on this interview and that includes riding to and from there on the bus and the actual interview.

I was somewhat familiar with the area. The lesson is that either I should have gone the day before, and/or actually studied the Google Map on the day I was supposed to leave and printed it out so I could show it to the bus driver. I did study it the day before. Lesson learned.

Blog: I created a new blog called "The Vertex Fighter." It's to promote my TV movie of the same title. A producer told me any exposure is good. I have been brainstorming titles months ago, but when I was trying to get this website up, it helped narrow down what title has been taken. Check it out:

http://thevertexfighter.blogspot.com/2011/06/vertex-fighter.html

Prior to my www.badcb.blogspot.com, I used to have a blog where I wrote one post on Mar. 4, 2006. The old blog's template looked exactly like this one, all green and blue. Today I have now deleted www.rebel3496.blogspot.com.

My one and only post said this:

"Wow, my first blog. I decided to use the font Courier because that is what's needed to type movie scripts. I intend to be a writer. If you know me personally, you would know that I'm going to spend a lot of time writing about news, movies, tv shows and many more things.

Here's something I was thinking about when eating lunch: How guys marry their girlfriends after she gets pregnant because it's the "right thing to do". Doing the right thing is more like admitting to a crime you committed and turning yourself in or getting your priorities straight and instead of going to a party, you stay home and you study. But to all the guys who marry their girlfriends after she gets pregnant, ask yourself 'Would you marry her even if she didn't get pregnant'?"

Rape: So I'm sure all of you heard of the politician Dominique Strauss- Kahn who is accused of attempting to rape a hotel maid. Prior to it he has been accused of sexually harassing other women. I would say he is the worst politician. Infidelity has been committed by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Eliot Spitzer, but what they did wasn't a crime. It was immoral. Looks like Anthony Weiner sending lewd photos of himself seem so minor.

It doesn't excuse AW for it, but in general nobody really likes politicians.

help/ Being Human/ Willa Ford

help/ Being Human/ Willa Ford

June 3 Help: I was thinking about how I want to be self- reliant and be successful on my own, but I really need a lot of help. I have people help me, but they can only help me so much before I have to go on my own.

My sister helped me with my math homework everyday so I could pass high school math. That takes hours of her tutoring me. However, I am the one who is taking the test by myself.

My friend Angela helped me with my resume in 2008. I emailed it to her, and she revised it and it looks great. I'm the one who's emailing my resumes to companies and going to job interviews by myself.

My friends Kristy (an English major) and Nialle (who is in Professional Writing) read and edited my portfolio so I could get into college. However, I was the one who wrote the three pieces. When I got a passing mark on the portfolio, I had to go and take the test by myself.

My parents pay for my college tuition, but I'm the one who is going to class everyday and doing the homework.

I go to Writing Help at the library for maybe an hour or so a week at the college when I was in Professional Writing. I usually get an assignment, I write the whole essay, and then the Writing Help person reads it and edits it. But I'm the one who did all the work.

Helping others: When I got that job at the big company, my friend Michelle asked me how I got it. I said I applied to every big company by passing my resume to all the locations. Then she got a job at a bank. I told her how to get the job, but she's the one who has to write a resume and pass it out. Then she has to go to work, learn how to do the job, and work.

So with the writer and published author Trevor Popik Hafso. We have emailed each other. He asked: "How did you discover who to pitch it (your script) to?" I told him to Google "production companies" and email them by introducing yourself and telling them about the script.

I told him the tip on who to pitch it to. However, he's the one who has to think up a story idea, write the script, write the script pitch, research which production companies produce his genre, email to all the production companies and face the rejection. I can give you the tip on how to start, but you're on your own afterwards.

June 5 Being Human: I haven't been watching much TV lately because there isn't any new episodes. I went onto Youtube to watch episodes of the sci- fi show Being Human. I wrote about it before. It's about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost all living together. It's very well- written.

I saw the 2nd part of the pilot, and I learned how they all became what they are. They didn't tell the audience how they became monsters, it was shown. TV is a visual medium, show don't tell.

Cut to the 18th century war and Aiden is fighting in the colonial times. He dies in the war, and wakes up a vampire.
Cut to the forest with a tent. There are dead people killed by a wild animal. Josh wakes up and he's been turned into a werewolf.
Cut to Sally lying dead on the floor of the stairs because she fell down them. She turns into a ghost.

Willa Ford: Does anyone remember Willa Ford? She's a singer/ actress. She came out in 2001 with her song "I Wanna Be Bad." She dated Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. She has been compared to Britney Spears because WF is a blonde solo pop star.

Anyway, WS is hot. Her singing career didn't go that far, but she did go on Dancing with the Stars and became a TV host and an actress. Here's her singing in a 2009 performance of her song "Sexy Sex Obsessive." If you go 3 min. in there's a great dance break where all her dancers do these hip hop moves. I loved the dancing. It was fun to watch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3E5gERJ_4A&feature=related

I also found her song "Nastified." I heard it way back in 2001. I even remember where I found it. It was through Jenny Hyun's blog. JH is this aspiring singer/ songwriter and I've been reading her blog on and off since.

Here's "Nastified." This song has got attitude and you can dance to it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFpPj1Wc2aU&playnext=1&list=PLC539D51F6A768DC8

911 Call: I was watching Yahoo News and there is this woman who's house was being broken into. She was on her cell phone calling 911 with her teenage son. They were hiding in her closet. She is talking to the burglar through the closet door asking: "Do you want jewelery? Do you want TVs?"

The mom Teresa was basically stalling the burglar as the police came a few min. later. It was a 23 yr old white guy who broke in.

20/20: There were a lot of news on last night's episode of 20/20.

Bath salts: Did you know that teens use bath salts to get high? 20/20 showed Youtube videos and interviewed parents of teens who died from getting high on bath salts. The symptoms are chest pains like a heart attack and hallucinations.

Andrew Young: He wrote a book called The Politician about John Edwards. It detailed about how as AY was working for JE as a campaign aide, and AY then had to pretend to be the father to JE's mistress Rielle Hunter's baby. JE spent nearly a million dollars hiding AY and his family, and RH from the media.

Amanda Knox: You may have heard of this story of a young American woman who went to Europe to study and is accused of murder. She may not be guilty due to lack of her DNA evidence in the crime scene. There will more of a trial this fall.

W5: The Canadian news magazine show W5 had confronted a fraudster in an earlier episode that aired months ago. They did an update and the police has since frozen his accounts. That's good news.

A story they covered was a developmentally delayed man was shot 5 times by the Ontario Provincial Police. OPP says he held out a pen knife at them, but the knife was found closed. No police officer has been charged shooting in the past 10 yrs. The Special Investigations Unit investigates.

An Irish woman was with gay friends. The police officer harassed them for being gay. He pushed her and she fell. There was video footage and the officer was suspended.

Actors: A few months ago I was channel surfing and I saw a bit of the movie White Chicks. It's where 2 black guy FBI agents dress up like white girls to protect hotel heiresses from being kidnapped.

Busy Phillips was in it. I saw her in that sitcom Love Inc. where the characters work at a dating agency. Now she's on Cougar Town. Not a total surprise she was in this movie because she does comedy.

I was surprised when I saw Jennifer Carpenter in it. She plays Deborah on the show Dexter. It's good that she went from doing a mediocre movie to a great well- written drama like Dexter. However, I will have to watch the whole movie before I can judge it.

Movies: I saw a couple movies about guys dressing up as women. Sorority Boys was awful about 3 white guys who got kicked out of a fraternity and has to dress up like women to join a sorority. They then have a place to live and food to eat there. I saw it when it came on TV. 3 guys dress up like women who look like guys. I only laughed out loud once.

Juwanna Mann was average due to a black guy who dresses like a woman, looks like a woman. Maybe because he was black. There was actually a good story of a guy who got kicked off the NBA team and dresses up like a woman to join the WNBA.
