job search/ Graham Wardle/ A Valentine's Carol

Feb. 10 Job search:

1. I set up a profile at Direct Energy (directyourenergy.com)
2. I applied for a sales position at Direct Energy.
3. I applied for a help- desk part- time position at Telus. I had a profile there since 2008.
4. I went out and applied to Stantec. (I did last year).
5. I then went to the General Hospital in downtown again, and there was an opening as a Food attendant. I dropped my resume there at HR again.

6. I went and applied to ATCO- I-Tek.
7. My mom told me to apply at the post office, so I did at the one in Shoppers Drug Mart.
8. I went to Kingsway mall to go shopping. I applied at the Dental Centre there.
9. I set up a profile on Bluecross.ca

Psychic: I saw a psychic because I wanted an edge. I feel like I'm going blindly in life, with no guidance. Sure I got my mom telling me to apply to the post office, and I did. I got my sister telling me to apply to Safeway, and I did. I got my dad telling me to apply for an office job and forget what everybody else is doing. Just focus on yourself.

Then I get some tips from my friends Justin and Dan about working at banks. Today was a productive day. Psychic Terri told me to "Push it. Lots of people give up too easily."

16 and Pregnant: I was reading a thread on imdb.com. It's about how there are probably girls out there who get pregnant so that they could get on TV. However, paparazzifan said it really well: "If some girl is stupid enough to get pregnant as a teenager for a television show, she would have probably have gotten pregnant anyway:/"

Well said. I also did try to calm myself down a bit by saying that though there are 10 more girls profiled in the second season of this show, there are still thousands of girls who get pregnant every year. It doesn't matter if there is a TV show, teen pregnancy will always be here.

Reflecting: I was reflecting on the past again. I know as a teenager, I wasn't really that messed up. I never got pregnant, I never got addicted to drugs like Ritalin. I just took it, and I went off it, I didn't go into withdrawal. I never got to the point I was crushing it up and snorting it, crushing it up and injecting it, or going to a drug dealer to get it. I was depressed, but I never cut myself.

I studied and worked hard. I was in the below average classes, but I managed to work hard and get myself to the average classes. I learned the lesson that it's okay to be average. I know I can't be an overachiever like my siblings and cousins. That's fine. There's nothing wrong to being average.

Feb. 11: Today was another day off so I passed out 12 resumes. 11 were to be administrative assistants in downtown, and one was to work at a call centre for $16/hr.

Channing Tatum: I read in the Metro a few months ago that he was a stripper before he got into acting. I believed it, because I can see it. If I read that Adam Brody was a stripper, I can't believe it. AB is good looking, but he is not stripper material. lol. I read yesterday that CT was going to be on Ellen.

I then typed in "Channing Tatum Ellen" and I got this 2 min. clip where CT does give a little bit of a lap dance on Ellen. lol. CT then sits down.

CT: Now I'm embarrassed.
E: I wish I had some dollar bills to give you.
CT: That's okay. This one's on the house.
lol.

CT: I'm not really ashamed of it, but I'm not really embarrassed either. (About being a stripper.)

CT: There are times when I'm dancing, women say: "You remind me of my nephew."
lol.

Funny: That reminds me of the joke from 2005. Jessica Alba was promoting her movie Sin City where she plays a stripper on The Late Night Show with Conan O'Brien.

JA: I went to a strip club because I was "researching." (She did air quotations.)
C: I went to a strip club because I was "researching" -to be a pervert!
C did the air quotations too.
The audience laughs.

That brings me to the other joke where Ed the Sock was dissing Three Doors Down video "Let me Go." The story where this guy finds out his girlfriend is a stripper, and it turns out she's doing it because she's a single mom.

Ed: And this actress. What kind of stripping is this? Did she do any research for her role?

Odd couple: I was reading about odd couples in the movies. There's going to be Cop Out starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. They did show Rush Hour 2 last night. I was thinking about maybe I should turn Rain into an odd couple action comedy. They won't be police though.

There can still be lots of tension and action in a comedy. I also thought about I-Spy with Owen Wilson playing a spy and Eddie Murphy playing a boxer, and they team up. Jackie Chan has already paired up with Owen Wilson in Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. It's always two people with two different races teaming up together to fight crime.

There was Hollywood Homicide starring Josh Hartnett and Harrison Ford. One is young and the other is old, same race.

Sean Faris: He was on three episodes of The Vampire Diaries, and he got killed off. I then went on Youtube to watch interviews with him. He says he gets told that he looks like Tom Cruise a lot. I didn't see it right away. Then I was reading comments that he looks like the soccer player Mario Gomez. Yeah, I can see that.

Feb. 13 Lookalike: It's interesting, the Channing Tatum lookalike showed up at my restaurant again. He came back in Nov. He told me that I seemed nervous. He looked familiar, but I wasn't quite sure if he has come in here before and we met.

Guy: You told me I look like that actor.
Me: Channing Tatum?
Guy: Yeah. It's interesting that after you told me that, 5 other people tell me I look like him.
Me: It's because of that Dear John movie.

Graham Wardle: Great news everybody. Graham Wardle (Ty from Heartland) has finally confirmed me as his friend on Facebook today. I went through my blog and it turns out I friended him on Jan. 17, and then again on Jan. 23. Now 3 weeks later he has confirmed me. I pitched The Fighter script to him again. It turns out I pitched it to him the past two times when I friended him. Well it's good to remind him, and show that I'm persistent. If not, I'll contact him again next month.

A Valentine's Carol: I saw this TV movie tonight, and it's actually pretty funny. It stars Emma Caulfield (Anya from Buffy.) This actress is like Kelly Rowan from The OC. They were both on good TV shows, and after wards are now doing TV movies.

The title is exactly like it sounds. It's like A Christmas Carol, but based on Valentine's day.
EC plays a radio host named Ally where she gives love/ dating advice. Then she is going to get married in two days on Valentine's day. She is then revisited by her old boss Jackie (Barbara Niven.) Jackie used to be the old radio host, until she had a heart attack. She's there because she needs a key to get into heaven. The only way she can do that, is to teach A a lesson about love.

They revisit the past, present and the future. They showed Ally's first proposal from Ben who was in culinary school. When B proposes, A says yes. A also got a call from the radio station Kiss FM to be an assistant. It's a great opportunity. A few months later, the engagement ended due to long distance. Ben is played by Dominic Zamprogna from shows shot in Canada like Edgemont and Tru Calling.

After J gets a heart attack, at the party, A meets a doctor Paul. P proposes to A. She says yes, but then he goes and talks about going all the way to Ethiopia to help people. A rejects him. A then sees the future and the error of her ways. A finds out fiance Matt (John Reardon) is into music, though he's a lawyer.

A finds out she's pretty shallow that she's only into him because he's successful and ambitious and not also the person that he really is. A and M look like they may not get married, but still be together. They end up getting married after all. There is a good subplot of A's assistant dumping her cheating boyfriend to get with Tim the geeky PA assistant at the radio station. A invites her two ex- boyfriends Ben and Paul to her wedding, and they hook up with two new women.

Feb. 14: Happy Love Day! Marge Simpson says that. lol.
